Abassi meets Dub All Sense
Abassi All Stars meet southern Italian dub crew Dub All Sense for the fourth Dub Conference release. Of course you should buy this one from Deep Root. It’s a limited edition, this time pressed on pink vinyl. Or you can download it for free, in which case of course you’ll miss the touch of vinyl and the artwork.
Dub Gabriel meets U-Roy
Luv ‘n Liv is the new single from Dub Gabriel taken from his upcoming studio album The Cut Up. It’s a collaboration with Jamaican toasting legend U-Roy. Nu dub meets roots reggae and takes it even further with some nice dubstep mixes.
The single is released on the destroyallconcepts label and they are giving away a free download of the Ming vs. Subatomic Sound System remix.

Abassi meets Dubmatix: Eko Dub
This is the third installment in the Dub Conference series. For this one Abassi All Stars teamed up with the excellent Dubmatix from Canada for a dancehall smash – dubwise! It’s a 7″ release on the Deep Root label, with an Abassi dub cut on the A side and a Dubmatix dubwise cut on the flipside.
No doubt you will want to get your hands on one of those great limited edition 7″ clear (see through) vinyls. But if you want to have a listen first, both tunes are now avalaible as a free download. Get them from here and enjoy!
Dub Conference Series
The idea behind the Dub Conference Series is to take a co-written tune and have it mixed by each production team then presenting the results in a strictly limited 7″ inch vinyl format. Previously in the series were Vibronics (Root34) and Prof Skank (Root35). Meanwhile the fourth 7″ in this series (Root37) has been released, featuring the Italian Dub All Sense crew.

Dubtronic did it again
Update on the Dubtronic releases.

Ape Man Skank’s “Dub Ghetto Boy” (DUBTREC-008) is some fingerlicking dark industrial dubstep.

The mighty Version Big-Fi bring us their new single “The Hip Gahn Drop” (DUBTREC-009), introducing his royal hipness Lord Buckley on vocals.
Digital laptop reggae
Jahtari is digital dub in the true sense of the word. The Leipzig-based record label calls it “digital laptop reggae”. On the one hand it’s dub (and reggae) in the classical sense; the way King Tubby, Lee Perry or Scientist did it. But it’s also 21st dub because over at Jahtari’s they do it with the only tool that is obvious to use for that purpose – a computer, and a computer only.
So Jahtari is classical dub made with a laptop. As simple as that. You can check it all out on their site, where you can read about their philosophy (a must-read) and download or order the music (many must-listens).

The Compuriddims EP is the newest release on Jahtari and it’s once again a strange but wonderfull one. To quote the promo:
Picking up the tradition of 1960ies pioneers of electronic music, like the people at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Giampiero Boneschi, Piero Umiliani and all the other forgotten library music heroes, TAPES is taking it an easy step further towards bass country. Blowing a healthy dose of Ganja smoke into the ever-spinning wheels of his 4-track machine and clashing it properly Dubwise with skanking subs, hi-current powered drummachines and a heap of MAX-MSP madness the result will simply make your ghettoblaster weep with joy…
Enjoy …
Dub Vibrations from Belgium and France

Reggaedub.be presents the first Dub Vibrations compilation. It turns out te be a wicked one, with 11 serious digital steppers given us a nice look at what’s new (dubwise!) in France and Belgium. You can download it for free from the reggaedub.be site. Big up for this one.
Also: if you’re a dubhead and interested in a place on the next compilation, then drop them a line.
New Dubzoic featuring Sista Sara
“Dance within” is the brand new single of Dubzoic, once again featuring Sista Sara. If you know Dubzoic, then you know what to expect: classic rootsy dub with a spiritual feel. The single comes in a vocal and an instrumental version. You can play it on the Dubzoic myspace page or download it from Mediafire. And let there be no doubt, it’s definitely a great tune.
Dubamix brings militant dub
This one’s a strange affair. What do you think would happen if you took your inspiration from yesterday’s roots reggae, today’s electro dub and classic composers like Haydn, Bach or Dvorak? And if you added those influences to your love for dub (musically) and anarchism (politically)? Well, then you might get something like “Mix A Dub”, the first album of Parisien Dubamix.
Dubamix started out in 2003 as a dubspace where musical and political resistance could meet in a true dub spirit. The music defies borders, letting different musical traditions get into a whole new dialogue. In a song like “Haydub” you can start guessing what would happen if Haydn were born on Jamaica. “Tango” mixes tango music with dub and the voice of Leo Ferré. In “Dvordub” you can hear a symphonic orchestra playing. In “Balkan” there’s french chanson and drum’n'bass. “Rap in Dub” then goes deep into hiphop and jungle territories where Dubamix meets Public Enemy. And so on.
Sometimes we think it’s all a bit too much for one record, but most of the time we get surprised by the originality of the ideas and the music. And of course we’re also pleased to hear the leftwing anarchist stance that Dubamix tries to make. There’s even a whole explanation why Dubamix is nòt an myspace.
You can download this 15 track album for free from the site or support Dubamix by buying the cd for a very reasonable 6 euro.
